Crash in Milton involving Halton Police cruiser injures two, closes road

The Special Investigations Unit is investigating a collision in Milton Wednesday night involving a Halton Regional Police cruiser and another vehicle that resulted in one person being taken to the hospital.
The officer involved in the accident was also injured, but was not taken to the hospital.
The crash occurred at around 9 p.m. in the area of Steeles Avenue and Cleve Court in Milton.
Steeles Avenue East between James Snow Parkway and Fifth Line was closed and will remain closed for an extended period of time Thursday morning as the SIU investigation continues.
Those going to the Amazon warehouse are being asked to use an alternate entrance via Fifth Line, while all other motorists are being asked to avoid the area.
Due to the circumstances of the collision, the investigation is now being conducted by members of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
