A rollover crash by an alleged impaired driver caused a two-hour roadway closure in Brampton on Wednesday afternoon.

The Peel police related that the crash occurred in the Rutherford Rd. / Clarence Ave. area some time around 3:23 p.m., and the roadway did not fully reopen until around 5. A vehicle rolled over several times. The driveir, who was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries, is in custody on suspicion of impaired driving.

On Twitter, Peel police used six clapping emojis to illustrate general frustration with motorists who get behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicants.

“WHy is this still a thing?” read the tweet by Peel Regional Police.
