Human trials of inhaled vaccine underway at McMaster University in Hamilton
A potentially revolutionary inhaled COVID-19 vaccine has been developed at McMaster University in Hamilton and the first phase of human trials is underway.

One hates to be the bearer of bad news but the numbers are saying we are not out of the pandemic just yet, especially with a new strain of the virus rumoured to be on its way.

The weekly incidence rate in Durham Region continues to climb and is now at 29. New cases are also on the rise to 213 and positivity rate from tests is also up, to 7.6 per cent.

Hospitalizations also jumped from 13 to 19 and there are two people in ICU with COVID, versus one last week. (The statistics provided by Lakeridge Health are not up-to-date and in fact were from last Thursday.)

The only positive news for the numbers (from June 19-25) were the outbreaks in institutions such as long term care homes, which is down to six from seven, and there was just one new death reported in the Region, versus two the week prior.
