Covid numbers in Durham Region encouraging

New covid cases in Durham Region are in single digits for the third day in a row, with eight cases reported yesterday and just two the previous day.

The average is 10.3 for the past week, though the three-day average is under six.

Delta variant case numbers are also encouraging, holding at the 26-mark established at the beginning of the week.

Vaccinations sit at 581,565, with 72.4 per cent of the adult population receiving one dose and more than a quarter of all 18-plus Durham residents now fully vaccinated.

Oshawa still lags behind their neighbours in vaccination rates, though they are nearly at the 69 per cent rate for first doses. The double dose rate in Oshawa is at 21.4 per cent.
