Covid, Delta numbers show small spike in Durham Region

After hitting a low of just two new cases of Covid-19 early last week, Durham has seen a slight spike since then, with 12, 10, 10, and 10 new cases reported in the past four days.

The number of people infected with the B.1.617.2 Delta variant has also seen a small hike in the numbers, from 29 mid-week to 41 as of Saturday.

Ajax (5.3 per cent) and Pickering (5 per cent) continue to show the highest rates of positivity per 100,000 residents. Durham Region’s number is 3.5 per cent.

The number of vaccinations in the Region has now topped 623,000, with 73 per cent of all adults with one dose in their arm and 31.5 per cent fully vaccinated.
