COVID-19 reported at 98 public schools in Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon

The Peel District School Board (PDSB) is reporting 160 COVID-19 cases in schools in Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon.

As of Tuesday (December 21), 98 schools have confirmed at least one student or staff member has contracted the virus, and 167 classrooms have been closed.

Of these, 80 are elementary and middle schools, while 18 are secondary schools.

Peel Public Health has declared six outbreaks at PDSB schools, including Eldorado Public School in Brampton, Lisgar Middle School in Mississauga, Dixie Public School in Mississauga, Robert H. Lagerquist Sr. Public School in Brampton, Tomken Road Middle School in Mississauga, Camilla Road Sr. Public School in Mississauga.

Additionally, Edenrose Public School, Lisgar Middle School, Robert H. Lagerquist Sr. Public School, Sir Winston Churchill Public School, and Vista Heights Public School have all been closed to mitigate the spread of the virus.
