Rapid covid-19 test

Hamilton residents will be able to pick up free COVID-19 rapid tests on Monday (Jan. 17) at a pop-up being held at a residence at McMaster University.

The Ontario Government provided an updated list of rapid antigen screening pop-ups for next week on Friday (Jan. 14), and listed among them is one at the school’s west Hamilton campus at the Bates Residence (1280 Main St. W).

People without symptoms of COVID-19 or people who have not had recent exposure to someone with the virus will be able to pick up a package of free tests, while supplies last. There is a limit of one test kit per person.

Monday’s pop-up at McMaster opens at 9 a.m. and requires advance registration. The tests can be picked up on the west side of Bates for drive-through and on the south side for walk-up.

The Bates Residence is located on the west side of the McMaster campus along Coote’s Drive.
