COVID-19 new case totals down to 11, with six from Oshawa

After a day when new COVID-19 cases made a dramatic jump to 43, the number was back down to just 11 Wednesday, with Ajax reporting their second zero new case day this week.

Oshawa reported six new cases yesterday. The next highest was Pickering with two.

There are 143 active cases in the region, with five people in hospital and one in ICU. The rest are home self-isolating.

Outbreaks at schools and day cares (5), long-term care homes (3) and workplaces (1) remain unchanged from Tuesday.

Monseigneur Leo Cleary Catholic School in Courtice remains closed to in-school learning for the second straight week.
