COVID-19 positivity appears to be rising again in Mississauga with a higher number of hotspots in the city.

Peel region’s COVID-19 map was updated for the week of August 29 to September 4, with many hotspots reporting incidence rates of 101 to 150 per 100,000.

The highest incidence rate is 147.4 per 100,000 in the area of Clarkson.

According to Peel, the map shows a crude incidence rate defined as the total number of new cases within a specific time period divided by the total population and multiplied by 100,000.

For the week of August 29 to September 4, Peel reports 219 new cases in Mississauga and 457 new cases in the region overall.
