Courtice teen arrested after allegedly pulling a knife and fleeing a car collision

An 18-year-old from Courtice was Courtice is facing multiple weapons-related charges after an altercation following a car crash yesterday, from which he fled.

Durham Police were called to a fail to remain collision in the Courtice High School parking lot around 2:30 on November 1. When they arrived they found a girl suffering minor injuries. Their investigation revealed a fight between the driver and another man, during which the driver pulled a knife, police say.

Police say the driver pushed a girl after the fight, hopped into a black Honda and sped off. He allegedly struck another girl and a school bus on the way out before fleeing the scene.

Mohmem Sadat, 18 of Clarington is charged with assault with a weapon, assault, dangerous operation of a vehicle and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace. He’s being held until a bail hearing.
