COSTCO RECALL: Warning of possible packaging pieces in a product in Ontario

Ontario customers are being told not to consume specific lots of an organic protein powder sold at Costco stores that may contain pieces of food packaging.

An automated phone message went out to Costco customers on Thursday, warning of a “potential quality issue” with some lots of Vega Organic Vanilla Protein & Green powder with item number 1749979.

“A small piece of food-grade packaging may have dislodged during manufacturing. As a result, the powder may contain a piece of piece of a food-contact safe material,” the automated message says.

The affected lots have numbers 202508720N, 202508721N, 202509124N, and 2025091279N.

“Please do not consume the affected product. You may return it to a Costco Warehouse for a full refund.”

The product is still available for sale online at Costco stores and the Vega website.
