Cops seek witnesses after 84-year-old cyclist struck and killed in Mississauga

Police are appealing to witnesses to come forward as they try to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of an 84-year-old man who was struck and killed while riding his bicycle in Mississauga on Tuesday morning (Oct. 11).

Peel Regional Police say the man was cycling northbound on Loonlake Ave. approaching Blueheron Blvd., near Bristol and Creditview Rds., at about 8:45 a.m. when he was struck by a pickup truck.

He was rushed to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators with the Peel police Major Collision Bureau have identified the driver of the pickup truck and continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
