An alleged contractor fraud has left a Caledon resident short of $12,000, and police are concerned there are more victims.

The Caledon OPP say a resident on Craftsman Road in Caledon paid a contractor $12,000 for a deposit to a contractor to complete an interlocking job.

After delaying the project for nearly two years, the work has never been completed and the contractor is no longer returning the victim’s phone calls, police say.

Investigators say they believe there may be additional victims in the Caledon area and in other jurisdictions.

Police did not release any additional details about the contractor, and the incident was first reported to police on Oct. 23, 2022.

Anyone with information on this incident or who believes you have been a victim of contractor fraud is asked to contact the Caledon OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
