Traffic has been blocked near the site of an industrial accident after a construction worker fell into a pit in Mississauga this morning.
Peel Regional Police say a man fell into an open pit at a construction site near Novar Road and Dundas Street West, just east of Confederation Parkway, at about 8:30 a.m.
The full extent of the man’s injuries are unknown, but police say he was conscious and breathing.
Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services are also on the scene.
The incident has led police to close Dundas Street in both directions between Confederation Parkway and Hurontario Street, and drivers should avoid the area for their morning commute and find alternate routes if possible.
