A construction worker in Brampton is taking a well-deserved vacation after a life-changing $1,000,000 lottery win last month.

Toni Savona lives in Brampton and was at a local gas station on April 20 when he decided to check a lotto ticket.

When the clerk scanned the ticket it revealed Savona had won a huge $100,000 prize.

“The cashier didn’t know what to do. He was smiling ear to ear for me,” Savona said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

Savona then told his wife about the prize and the couple decided to throw a party to celebrate the win with their friends and family.

Savona said he plans to use the $100,000 to invest in property and take a vacation.

Encore offers 22 ways to win and can be played in conjunction with most lottery games for an extra $1 with a new draw every day.

The OLG says it supports safe play and responsible gambling through its PlaySmart program.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart on Central Park Dr. in Brampton.
