Ontario housing starts up, but still far off needed levels for 1.5 million homes

An ongoing construction project in Milton is resulting in an extended road closure this month.

Back in May, the Town began enhancing Thompson Road, from Louis St. Laurent Avenue to Britannia Road.

This project, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year, is upgrading infrastructure for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians while supporting the development of the Boyne Secondary Plan area.

Enhancements include road widening to four lanes, urbanization, a roundabout at Whitlock Avenue, temporary signals at Logan Drive, bike lanes and multi-use pathways.

Initially, the second stage of this project was expected to last until Oct. 15, however, it has now been extended to Oct. 22, 2021.

As a result, there will be a full closure at Thompson Road South between south limit of Whitlock Avenue to Louis St. Laurent Avenue. Traffic will be detoured via Regional Road 25, Fourth Line, Louis St. Laurent Avenue and Britannia Road.
