Conservation Halton increases park fees in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills

It’s going to cost you more to visit conservation parks in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills this summer.
Conservation Halton is increasing entrance fees and membership prices to its seven parks effective June 14.
It’s been over four years since Conservation Halton, which isn’t associated with Ontario Parks or Parks Canada and operates on self-generating revenue, has increased prices.
The additional revenue will help them increase innovative programming and experiences for visitors and bring these to life over the next year.
There has also been a substantial cost increase in land management over the past few years, an increase in insurance premiums and additional capital costs to maintain the infrastructure to support the growing population of Halton Region.
“Even with the investment of our visitor management system to control park capacities during the pandemic, we have seen a 40 per cent increase in visitation in 2020 and 30 per cent increase overall since 2016,” Conservation Halton said on its site. “While we love seeing more people coming out to enjoy our parks, it means that our visitor impact management efforts have had to increase significantly to ensure we are minimizing the impacts on the environment.

“The increased visitation, in addition to an eighth park opening this year, means we require additional resources to support the extra volume through staffing, reservation systems, and programming.”
Upcoming projects and improvements include automated gates and contactless payment systems onsite, park infrastructure and facility upgrades and the Pass It On Program with Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills Libraries.
The Conservation Halton Board of Directors approved the following rates for all parks:
New Visitors
- Adult $9.50 +HST
- Senior $7.50 +HST
- Child (5-14) $6.50 +HST
- Child (under 4) Free
New Membership Fees
- Individual $75 +HST
- Senior Individual $60 +HST
- Family $150 +HST
- Senior Family $135 +HST
