A Shoppers Drug Mart plaza in Mississauga could be replaced with condo towers.

A developer submitted an application to redevelop 579 – 619 Lakeshore Rd. E. (Shoppers Drug Mart Plaza and neighbouring commercial building) and two adjacent residential properties at 1022 Caven St. and 1028 Caven St., according to a notice from Ward 1 Coun. Stephen Dasko.

The proposal is to redevelop the plaza into two six-storey buildings with ground floor commercial uses on Lakeshore Road East and three 16-storey residential towers in the interior of the property.

The application comes from Star Seeker Inc., 619 Lakeshore Inc., 1022 Caven Inc., and 1028 Caven Inc.

The applicant needs an official plan amendment and rezoning approval to proceed.

There are few details on the plan but Dasko is hosting a community virtual meeting on Dec. 13 to provide residents with further information.
