It seems like every day there’s more bad news regarding COVID-19; however, the good news is many companies have stepped up to help residents across the country.

One such company, Concerts in Care Ontario, has announced it will continue to provide music to residents of long term care homes across the province.

These can be especially depressing times for these residents, as many long-term care facilities are forbidding visitors to prevent the spread of the virus–which can have devastating effects on the elderly.

Unfortunately, as part of precautionary measures to help stop the spread of COVID-19, many of the 250 artists scheduled to perform 400 live concerts in 72 facilities to 20,000 seniors in Ottawa, Pembroke, Toronto, London, Sudbury, and Windsor, have had to cancel.

However, Concerts in Care Ontario is working with its network of professional musicians, and recording ‘live’ musical performances and delivering the digital files to care homes across Ontario.

Some of the genres of music offered by Concerts in Care Ontario include classical, jazz, American songbook, and culturally specific genres.
