Singer/songwriter Osé will showcase her talents tonight (Nov. 28) as part of First Up with RBCxMusic, a virtual concert series featuring emerging artists.

The 17-year-old Brampton resident will present a mixture of her material beginning at 7 p.m. which can be viewed on her Instagram Channel.

First Up with RBCxMusic was created in the summer to support emerging Canadian musicians and recording artists affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. For Round 2, which launched on November 10, RBC selected an additional 27 emerging musicians and recording artists along with nine alumni from Round 1 to participate in the program.

Taking elements from R&B and soul, but with her own modern approach, Osé is a dynamic singer who is able to fuse the different styles into infectious and powerful pop tunes.

Born into a musical family and with her skills honed in the church, she takes her inspiration from a grandmother who was a performer in her own right. Although her grandmother never had the chance to see her own career flourish, Osé has inherited the passion for song and style and is poised to break through to a broader audience.

As for tonight’s performance, she hopes the opportunity will allow her to reach a large audience.

“When it comes to First Up with RBCxMusic, when I first found out about the program I wanted to be a part of it so badly, but by the time I discovered it Round 1 was almost halfway done,” she said. “As an upcoming artist it was really important to me that I was part of this movement to show people what I have to offer. This program meant a chance at finally being seen and not just heard. In my upcoming performance you can expect realness, in the setting of the video, as well as my songs/vocals, and frankly just good vibes altogether.”

As a supporter of emerging artists, RBC says it is compelled to do its part to continue helping emerging Canadian musicians impacted by the pandemic. All First Up participants receive:
• A $1000 stipend, plus paid amplification support of their performance on Instagram
• Media and promotional support for their performance
• Networking opportunities with industry professionals
