Complete timeline of shootings that left 2 dead, 3 injured in Mississauga and Milton

There were shootings in Mississauga and Milton that left two people dead, including a Toronto police officer, and injured three others (Sept 12, 2022).

Peel Regional Police spokeswoman Heather Cannon said two people were shot in Mississauga, one of whom had been taken to a trauma centre.

Police said they received the call about the shooting near Argentia Road and Winston Churchill Boulevard at 2:15 p.m. A Toronto police officer was killed in Mississauga.

Halton Regional Police, which serves Milton, got a call that there was a shooting at an autobody facility at 2:50 p.m. that it had the streets closed from Bronte St. South from King St. to Main St.

The force said one person was confirmed dead and two others had been taken to hospital.

Peel Regional Police sent an emergency alert just before 4:30 p.m. Monday warning the public about an “armed and dangerous” suspect driving a stolen Jeep Cherokee.

At 4:33 p.m., Halton Regional Police said they had a suspect in custody, believed to be the same person involved in the Mississauga shooting.

The suspect got arrested in Hamilton on York Blvd. Halton police shot the gunman during the arrest and now SIU investigating.

At around 6:30 p.m. Hamilton police confirmed that the suspected gunman was shot and killed.

At 8:10 p.m. at a press conference that took place at the scene of the killing the Toronto Police identified the officer killed in the shooting in Mississauga, police described as an “ambush attack” as Constable Andrew Hong.
