Community clean-up week returns to Oshawa, beginning next Sunday, as volunteer groups celebrate the arrival of spring by helping clean up the city’s parks, greenspaces and trails.

Registered participants will receive free garbage bags and gloves (while supplies last) and a certificate of appreciation for their contribution to the community. To register or learn more, including choosing a community clean-up area or finding a group, visit Oshawa.ca/cleanupweek or call (905) 438-3146.

As part of Community Clean-up Week, Communities with Brooms will return for a downtown spring cleaning on Thursday, April 27, beginning at 11:30 a.m. To register email [email protected].

“We all have a role in keeping Oshawa parks and trails clean,” said Councillor Bob Chapman, Vice-Chair of the Economic and Development Services Committee. “Spring is the time to organize your friends and neighbours to help clean up our neighbourhoods. Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter, who thanked sponsors TD, Swish and Pitch-In Canada, will be participating in the clean-up.

“Together, we can all contribute to making our green spaces, parks, neighbourhoods and downtown inviting spaces for everyone to enjoy.”
