Community members can now have a say and how ice and other space is used at arenas in Georgetown and Acton.

An online survey seeks suggestions about ice and floor programs at the arenas. The Town of Halton Hills says survey results will assist in the types of programs that are offered and the scheduling for these programs.

Floor programs are ones that take place in the warmer months when ice is removed and the bare concrete floor pad remains in the arena.

Acton Arena is entirely converted to floor programs for the summer, while Mold-Masters SportsPlex in Georgetown maintains one ice pad and three floor pads. Some current floor programs include indoor pickleball, inline skating and more.

Some of the new floor programs being considered include basketball, dodgeball, movies, soccer, and remote-controlled vehicle use. New ice programs being considered are sledge hockey and women’s shinny.

The survey can be found here.
