If you enjoy stand-up comedy, you might be excited to hear that an in-person festival that’s been on hiatus since its inaugural 2020 event is back in Mississauga’s quaint Streestville neighbourhood.

The Streetsville Comedy Centre, which will feature six well-known comics, will take place on April 27 at the Vic Johnston Community Centre (335 Church St.).

The event will kick off at 8 pm.

As for who will be performing, the festival will be headlined by Canadian comedian, actor and writer Jon Dore, who has appeared on How I Met Your Mother, Conan, Inside Amy Schumer, Baroness Von Sketch Show and more. He was also the star of the aptly named Comedy Network series The Jon Dore Show

Other comedians slated to take the stage include host Dave Hemstad (The Debators), Rob Bebenek (Sirius XM’s Top Comic, Just For Laughs), Zabrina Douglas (Things Black Girls Say), Sandra Battaglini (Classy Lady, Maps to the Stars, The Amazing Gayle Pile), and Mark DeBonis (The Great Canadian Laugh Off, Just For Laughs).

The last festival, which was held right before the pandemic hit in 2020, featured a headlining performance from Tom Green and sets by other acclaimed comics, including Deanne Smith and Ron Josol.

Tickets, which cost $39, are still available.
