Collision with hydro pole in Ajax send driver to trauma centre with serious injuries

The southbound lanes of Westney Road between Fairall Street and O’Brien Court in Ajax will be closed for the day after an early morning collision with a hydro pole sent one woman to a Toronto trauma centre with serious injuries.

Westney was completely closed between Fairall and Bayly Street until shortly after nine a.m. for the investigation. The southbound lanes will remain closed until the hydro pole can be replaced.

Durham Police are asking drivers to avoid the area.
