While the view is somewhat obscured by trees, it would appear that one of the two vehicles is in the centre ditch.

There was a serious collision on the Niagara-on-the-Lake stretch of the Niagara-bound Highway 405 this afternoon (January 18) at 1:15 pm after a car entered the highway going in the wrong direction.

According to media outlet Niagara 411, the two vehicles struck each other at high speed with one landing in the ditch near the Stanley Ave ramp – the last exit before the USA at the Queenston-Lewiston bridge.

While it was reported that the OPP and emergency vehicles responded, there is no word from the OPP highway patrol whether or not the part of the highway was shut down.

However, Niagara 411 did note that “injuries (were) not as serious as originally thought.”
