The price for a coffee has changed at Tim Hortons.
The restaurant chain told INsauga.com that this is the first time in several years that they have changed the price — a move they called “more than reasonable.”
“This is the first time in about three years that we’ve adjusted the price of coffee – by an average of three cents per cup,” Tim Hortons said in a statement.
“This is significantly below inflation and reflects our commitment to great value and everyday low prices for our guests.”
Tims said the average increase is around 1.5 per cent per cup, well below the cumulative headline consumer price index over the past three years.
The company also said that the price of coffee has increased by more than 148 per cent during the same period, “so a three-cent increase on average is more than reasonable.”
“Our approach to pricing in our restaurants does not reflect any single event, but rather is designed to stay roughly in line with inflation over time, while maintaining great value and everyday low prices,” Tim Hortons said.
