A fourth person has been charged in connection with an ongoing drug trafficking and stolen vehicle investigation in southern Ontario that has led police to thousands of dollars in cocaine and other substances in addition to various weapons.
Several real and replica guns, a stolen crossbow, a homemade conducted energy weapon (Taser) and suspected stolen property that includes more than 40 bicycles, three motorcycles, tools and a riding lawnmower were seized by police in September during the execution of search warrants at three homes in Guelph, Halton and Erin.
Suspected crystal methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl, with an estimated total value of more than $14,000, were also recovered during the searches conducted by officers with Guelph Police, Halton Regional Police and Ontario Provincial Police.
Two Guelph men, ages 41 and 51, and a Halton man, 40, were arrested at that time, Guelph Police said in a news release on Thursday.
They face charges that include possessing controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking, possessing stolen property over $5,000, possessing prohibited weapons and breaching court orders.
On Wednesday, a 34-year-old Erin woman was arrested by Halton officers. She’s charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possessing stolen property over $5,000 and unauthorized possession of a weapon.
The woman is being held for a bail hearing in Guelph court on Thursday.
Police said the investigation was launched this past summer by officers with the Guelph Police break-and-enter/auto theft squad who began tracking two men suspected of being involved in drug trafficking and stolen property offences.
