Cocaine, cash and weapon seized by police; three people charged in Ontario town

Three people face multiple charges after police found cocaine, cash and a prohibited weapon during searches of two homes in a small Ontario town this week.
Ontario Provincial Police said oxycodone pills, drug trafficking items and cellphones were also seized during the execution of search warrants at the two addresses on Thursday in Deseronto, a small town about 60 kilometres west of Kingston.
Police said they recovered a “large amount of Canadian currency” during the raids. They didn’t specify what type of weapon was found.
The search warrants were executed by officers at homes on Mill Street and Brant Street, police said in a news release issued on Friday.
OPP street crime officers, the canine unit and other local police officers took part in the investigation.
A 22-year-old man from Toronto and a 32-year-old woman from Deseronto are each charged with:
- possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
- possession for the purpose of trafficking opioid
- unauthorized possession of weapon
- possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
A second woman, also of Deseronto, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.
All three were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
