A U.S. plastic manufacturer announced plans to close its facility in Brampton.
Revere Plastics Systems LLC said it plans to close its manufacturing facility in Brampton, its sole Canadian operation, in June 2026.
The facility reportedly employs about 50 people.
In a Nov. 17 news release, officials with the Michigan-based company said long-term financial challenges were behind the Brampton closure.
The company said that “challenges have made it difficult for the plant to remain financially viable.”
Revere didn’t immediately respond to a request for further information on the closure.
The company “deeply values” the work of the Brampton team and will support employees through the transition, according to a story in Canadian Plastics.
“Closing a plant with such history and tenure is an incredibly difficult decision,” said CEO Kevin Kernan in a Plastics Today story. “We are grateful for the commitment and craftsmanship of our Brampton team, and we will work closely with each team member to provide support and resources throughout this transition.”
The business is expected to continue operations as usual until June, and team members will remain under their current terms of employment.
Revere primarily supplies injection molding and assembly services to the appliance, automotive and consumer goods sectors. It employs more than 1,200 people. There are six facilities in the U.S. and one in Mexico.
