A Tim Hortons restaurant located in an iconic part of Ontario has shut down.
The Tims, which was located in the heart of Niagara Falls’ tourist area at 4950 Clifton Hill, permanently closed recently.
The company confirmed the closure in a statement sent to INsauga.com and said that there has been “some confusion online” as to the reasoning.
“We know there’s been some confusion online about why this Tim Hortons closed, we can confirm it was not related to staffing availability,” the statement said.
“The decision was made by the former restaurant owner who has decided to pursue other business interests. That person also owns the building and is now looking at other ways to use the property after many successful years operating this location.”

The company didn’t say how many people may have lost their job, or if they were relocated.
Tim Hortons said it still has multiple locations in Niagara Falls, including a new one at 6363 Lundy’s Lane.
It also has restaurants at 6380 Fallsview Boulevard, 4835 Victoria Avenue, and 5551 Murray Street.
