closed at Square One in Mississauga

A popular sweet treat shop that has been around for 50 years inside of Mississauga’s Square One has officially closed its doors.

Laura Secord — the gourmet chocolate and ice cream shop has been situated inside the Square One location long before it became a shopping centre hub with 160 retailers back in 1973.

The cherry on top is that the shop has never shifted. It’s stayed in its original spot since the very beginning. As seen in the original mall directory from 1973.

Much like it’s other locations, the store offered many specialty items, including their own chocolate line with unlimited selections to choose from, seasonally themed products, and novelty items.

Multiple signs were posted outside of the storefront to let customers know that they were permanently closed and listed information on the closest location they could visit.

It is unclear what store will be replacing the gourmet confectionary.

The two nearest Laura Secord retailers are inside Erin Mills Town Centre and Bramalea City Centre.
