UPDATE: The restaurant has reopened after passing a follow-up inspection on Nov. 7.
A Mississauga restaurant has been forced to close down after failing a recent health inspection.
Riyasat Indian Restaurant, located at 325 Central Pkwy W Unit 10, was inspected and shut down on Monday, Nov. 6.
Peel Public Health’s inspection report states that the restaurant did not properly store food to prevent contamination or adulteration, posing a significant health risk.
The report also alleges that utensils were not properly washed and sanitized, and an adequate number of accessible handwashing stations was not provided, among other infractions.
The restaurant is currently closed and may be allowed to reopen after passing a follow-up health inspection.
This is the first and only inspection for the restaurant which appears to have opened recently. Riyasat Indian Restaurant also has locations in Oakville and Etobicoke.
