A restaurant that’s been serving up a popular brunch to people in Toronto for nearly 20 years has now announced that they’re shutting down.

Boom Breakfast is closing down one of their beloved restaurants, writing a heartfelt thank you to their community on social media and letting them know about the closure.

Boom is known for their classic traditional breakfast options, including pancakes, Eggs Benedict, waffles, smoothies and more.

“We’ve watched so many of you walk through our doors for the first time as couples, come back engaged, then married, and eventually carrying in babies and toddlers,” reads an emotional message from Boom on social media.

“For some of you, we were also unofficial bartenders, therapists, and early-morning pep-talk providers.”

There are many comments on the social media post from Boom, coming from people who have been coming to the breakfast restaurant for almost as long as it’s been open and have gotten to know the people behind it.

“We’ve been coming since before both of our kids were born. We’ve grown up with you guys and you will be so missed,” reads one heartfelt comment on Instagram.

“Mirella and Rose, I wish you both all the best in your next chapter. I’m incredibly proud of you! Love you to the moon and beyond!” one personal comment reads.

“I will miss the whole Boom family. You created a community full of joyous times. Thank you and all the best,” someone else commented.

Boom Breakfast still has locations in Toronto in Little Italy and the Junction.

The last day for Boom on Eglinton will be March 29.
