Update: Just before 1 p.m., police said all lanes had reopened.
Original story follows.
Portions of Highway 401 were closed on Tuesday morning after multiple crashes involving transport trucks.
The collisions were reported in the westbound lanes of the highway in “several” locations between Kingston and Napanee, the Ontario Provincial Police said on X.
In an update at 9:45 a.m., the OPP said eastbound Highway 401 remains closed between County Road 4 and Sydenham Road. Westbound lanes are still closed at Palace Road in the Napanee area. Westbound lanes have been reopened in Kingston.
No serious injuries have been reported, police said.
An earlier collision also closed a portion of the highway west of Brockville, the OPP added.
The crashes come as most of southern Ontario is under a special weather statement for strong winds and flurries.
Police asked people to drive with care.
