CLOSURE: Highway 403 shut down in part of Mississauga

UPDATE: Shortly after 5:15 p.m., police said the westbound lanes of Highway 403 had reopened. Police remain at the scene while the investigation is underway.

Part of Highway 403 is closed in Mississauga due to crash.

The westbound lanes of the highway are fully closed at Hurontario Street.

Images from traffic cameras show vehicles being diverted off the highway onto Hurontario.

There’s a lengthy traffic backup in the area, stretching to Highway 410.

Ontario Provincial Police said that injuries from the collision are being assessed.

“Expect a prolonged closure during the on-site investigation and clean-up efforts,” OPP said.

“Please use alternate routes.”

Further information about the incident wasn’t immediately available. OPP said they would provide updates.
