CLOSURE: Fried chicken restaurant closing its doors after seven years in Toronto

A fried chicken restaurant that was on its way to being in business for a decade in Toronto has now announced that they have closed.

Joe Bird served up tasty fried chicken meals with a creative twist, along with a side of waterfront views. The restaurant recently took to social media to let people know that they were closing their doors.

“After an incredible run, we’ve decided it’s time pass the torch and close the restaurant,” reads a post on social media from Joe Bird.

“We built Joe Bird into an amazing community space and appreciate everyone who came through our doors…our success would not have been possible without you all. Much love.”

The post on social media accumulated over 100 likes and a couple dozen comments within just hours of going live.

People were quick to post heartfelt comments such as, “This place will always have a special place in my heart,” and “The summer will not be the same without the Bird!”

“We will truly miss you,” one person commented. “You’ve been a staple in our neighbourhood and a venue for many celebrations and family gatherings. Thanks for everything!”

Joe Bird announced their closure on social media today, and their Instagram bio now reads “closed.”
