Game Stop at Erin Mills Town Centre in Mississauga closing permanently.

A once-popular gaming store at Erin Mills Town Centre in Mississauga’s west end has shut down permanently after serving its customers for well over a decade.

A sign posted to the storefront of GameStop (formerly EB Games), located on the mall’s upper level, informs customers that the store will be closing down for good as of this Sunday (Dec. 10).

“Dear valued customer,” the notice begins. “We regret to inform you that this location will be permanently closing on December 10, 2023.”

The notice continues: “After that date, we look forward to seeing you at our other locations. Let us know if you have pre-orders and we’ll let you know where you can pick them up.”

No reason for the closure was provided in the notice to customers.

First established in 1977 as an American company, the business has grown and flourished in countries around the world, including Canada.

GameStop is the parent company of EB Games and has its headquarters in Texas, near Dallas.

This notice was posted on the storefront of the Erin Mills Town Centre store on Friday.
