A popular discount store chain is closing a location in a southern Ontario city, the company says.
A spokesperson for Giant Tiger confirmed to INsauga.com that they will be closing their Burlington store.
It’s located at 2025 Guelph Line, near Upper Middle Road.
“The decision to close any of our stores is not taken lightly and is made with careful consideration and thorough analysis,” Jessica Charbonneau said.
“Our priority is ensuring that staff and customers are supported, and we are working directly with impacted employees.”

The store will close on Saturday, March 7, she said.
It’s not clear how many individuals may lose their job.
“We encourage customers to visit the next closest store, Giant Tiger Hamilton and Stoney Creek, or online at GiantTiger.com,” Charbonneau said.
There are a total of three Giant Tiger stores in Hamilton: at 1211 Barton Street East, 969 Upper Ottawa Street, and 33 Cannon Street East.
There are also two in Mississauga at 1131 Dundas Street West and 3200 Erin Mills Parkway.
