Carlo’s Bakery has abruptly shut down its cafes in Ontario, closing locations in Port Credit and Yorkville.
A representative for the bakery confirmed that both locations have closed, though “cake ATMs” — essentially vending machines that sell cake — remain open, with various locations in Canada.
Carlo’s is a New Jersey-based, family-owned bakery best known for being featured on the TLC show Cake Boss.
It opened its first Canadian location in Mississauga’s Port Credit in January 2022. The Cake Boss himself even went to the bakery when it opened.
Earlier this year, Carlo’s in Port Credit shut down for renovations, later reopening with a restaurant concept named Lago Pizza & Pasta.
Now, however, it appears Carlo’s has completely shut down.
Meanwhile, Lago Pizza & Pasta marked its grand opening earlier this month. The restaurant offers authentic Italian cuisine, featuring pizza and pasta dishes, and more Italian classics.
If you still want a taste of Carlo’s baked goods, you can find a map of “cake ATMs” here.
