A beloved café known for its picture-perfect plating and pink aesthetic is preparing to close its doors in Pickering, with its final day of service set for Sunday.
Dessert Lounge, located in a plaza at 2200 Brock Rd., opened in 2022 and built a loyal following for its desserts and comfort-food menu.
The café featured a pink-and-white interior accented by gold finishes, with desserts often presented on trays accompanied by a rose in a small vase. This was a signature touch that made the space especially popular for social media photos.
Menu offerings ranged from elaborate sundaes and warm croffles topped with ice cream and chocolate drizzles, to milkshakes, Belgian waffles, crepes, cakes and espresso-based drinks.
The café also served Halal savoury options, including chicken-and-waffle plates, poutines and seasoned fries, making it a go-to spot for both sweet treats and casual meals.
Owner Mori confirmed the closure in an Instagram video posted Jan. 2, saying the café would operate for one final weekend, with Sunday (Jan. 4) marking its last day. She said the decision was not an easy one and had been carefully considered over the past several months.
While the shop is closing, Mori noted the Dessert Lounge Instagram page will remain active, serving as a place to share future updates and milestones involving both her and the café’s staff.
