Another major retailer is closing all of its Canadian stores.
Johnston & Murphy, a U.S. footwear and clothing company, announced it is shutting all of its Canadian stores and e-commerce site as of Jan. 18.
“We are sad to announce that our ecommerce website for Canada has closed, and we are not accepting orders for shipment in Canada,” a notice on the Canadian Johnston & Murphy website reads. “Our Canadian retail stores will be closing for business on January 18th.”
In the GTA, Johnston & Murphy stores are at Toronto’s TD Centre, 66 Wellington St. W., Toronto Pearson Airport in Mississauga, CF Sherway Gardens in Etobicoke, Vaughan Mills and Burlington’s Mapleview Centre.
There was a location in Alberta at CrossIron Mills near Calgary, which is marked as permanently closed on Google.

Johnston & Murphy posted an announcement on the Canadian website about the closure.
The company is known for high-quality men’s and women’s shoes, apparel, accessories and leather goods. The business was founded in 1850 in New Jersey. It started out as a men’s boot and shoe company.
There will be no in-store clearance sales as all remaining inventory is being shipped to the U.S, according to a story on Retail Insider.
Johnston & Murphy products will still be available at other stores in Canada, the company posted on its website.
Stores listed include Becker Shoes, Caron Chaussures, Canadian Footwear, Duggers, Factory Shoe, Jean-Paul Fortin, Leclerc Chaussures, Reg Wilkinson Menswear & Footwear, and Trends For Men.
The announcement comes in the same month as low-cost fashion retailer Ricki’s and cleo announced the closure of stores across Canada, and major Canadian retailer, Frank and Oak, filed for bankruptcy.
