A popular bakery at Heartland Town Centre (HTC) in Mississauga has officially closed its doors to the public.

A representative from HTC confirmed that the Panera Bread, located at 5935 Mavis Rd Unit #2, closed last week.

Following the closure, several residents took to Reddit to express their thoughts and even post some speculations.

“Why is it permanently closed?” asked one user on the thread with a broken heart emoji.

“I was there two weeks ago for lunch. It was busy,” wrote another user on the thread.

While the closure may be disappointing news for residents who frequented that Panera Bread location, the same representative for HTC told insauga.com that a new bakery is expected to open in its place.

While no additional details are available, the representative told insauga.com that the new bakery, which operates across the globe, will soon be expanding into the Canadian market.

As a result, residents can expect something exciting to open in its place and are encouraged to stay tuned for updates.

For the time being, fans of Panera Bread can still go to the location at 55 Square One Dr. Unit #1 across from Square One to get their fix.
