CLOSURE: 24-hour gym gives members free upgrades amid shutdown in Brampton

Members of a now-closed 24-hour gym franchise in Brampton are getting free pass upgrades, available for use at other locations in Mississauga, Oakville and across Ontario.

The Crunch Fitness gym located on Peter Robertson Boulevard near Dixie Road closed its doors on Sunday, according to posts on social media.

But the abrupt closure will see customers at the Brampton location receive membership upgrades to Crunch Fitness’ “Peak Results” tier, and can be used at other Crunch Fitness locations.

“Your Peak Results membership will give you access to all Crunch locations including Crunch Mississauga (6460 Millcreek Rd, Mississauga) and Crunch Burloak (3465 Wyecroft Rd, Oakville),” Crunch Fitness said in a post online.

The operators said they are “on the hunt for a new Brampton location and will share updates as soon as possible.⁣”

A chain of 24-hour gyms with locations in multiple provinces, Crunch Fitness started in 1989 as a small gym in a basement studio in New York City’s Greenwich Village “as a welcoming place for a diverse group of people to get fit,” Crunch Fitness says on its website.
