Beer Store closures are set to continue in September in Ontario.
Amid the expanded alcohol marketplace in the province, in which alcoholic beverages can be sold at convenience stores, more grocery stores, and big-box businesses, numerous Beer Store locations have shut down.
Most recently, 10 locations shut their doors for good on Aug. 24.
In September, another 21 Beer Stores are set to close.
Ten will shut down on Sept. 14, followed by 11 more on Sept. 28.
“The Beer Store is adapting to changes in the retail market in Ontario,” Ozzie Ahmed, the vice president of retail at The Beer Store, said in a news release regarding the Sept. 28 closures.
“This is an ongoing process and includes making the difficult decision to close some retail locations. We know this is difficult for customers, employees and the communities where we operate.”
