A ‘close-up’ magician from Pickering wowed the judges at his America’s Got Talent audition on July 4, with all four judges voting ‘yes’ to send him on to the next round.

Kameron Marshall, who was inspired to perform magic by his eighth-grade teacher, performed a series of close-up magic tricks with a deck of cards, prompting judge Sophia Vergara to declare him her “favourite” audition on the day and former Spice Girl Mel B. to say his magic was “alive.”

“You, my friend, blew my brain away.”

Marshall, who has been performing since 2013 and tries to spread positivity and wonder through magic as an art form, impressed the judges with his conversational presentation as he flipped cards at the Judges’ Table – cards that changed their suit and numbers before their eyes. One moment they were eights, then Marshall would flip them and they became nines.

Show founder Simon Cowell wanted to know how he’d sustain the act and make it bigger for the next round and voted him through to find out.
