The unveiling of the Clarington Community Art Mosaic Mural in Veteran’s Square in downtown Bowmanville is happening this morning at 9 a.m.

The mosaic mural is made up of more than 700 individual tiles that residents painted as part of a community-wide art project designed to connect people and the community in a safe, physically distanced way during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lead by Mural Mosaics, communities across Canada participated by creating murals of trees to symbolize connection. Clarington’s mural will be an apple tree Each square of the mural represents a tile that a different resident will paint.

If you can’t be in Bowmanville for nine, the official unveiling will be livestreamed through Clarington’s Facebook channel as well.
