Driver shortage woes continue in Durham Region this week as 27 routes affecting 14 schools in Clarington, Ajax and Oshawa have been cancelled today.

The problem is still felt hardest with the First Student bus company, which has 21 routes cancelled Tuesday: three in Ajax, four in Oshawa and 14 in Clarington. Century Transport is also feeling the pinch of a lack of drivers with six routes cancelled; all in Clarington.

The schools affected are St. Josephine Bakhita and Alexander Graham Bell (afternoon only) in Ajax; St. Hedwig and Bobby Orr in Oshawa; and Courtice Intermediate, Courtice Secondary, Dr. G.J. MacGillivray, Duke of Cambridge, St, Worden, The Pines, Clarke High School, Clarington Central Secondary and Clarington Central Intermediate, Courtice Secondary, Courtice North and St. Joseph.

All schools remain open.
