City of Mississauga Launches Grant Program

Do you need a little extra financial help to get your business or initiative off the ground?

If so, you might be happy to hear that the city will now be accepting applications from Mississauga-based arts, culture and community organizations requiring financial support in 2018.

According to the city, four categories of grants are available.

Arts and Culture Grant Program

This program provides operating funding for not-for-profit cultural organizations. The grant helps organizations advance their knowledge and develop outstanding programs and services that further participation, understanding and the appreciation of, culture and heritage for the citizens of Mississauga. 

Culture Projects Grant Program

Culture projects grants are intended to support events or activities taking place between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018. 

Culture Festivals and Celebrations Grant Program

This program assists Mississauga-based organizations by providing funding for costs associated with providing a clean and safe venue for the presentation of arts, heritage and cultural festivals and celebrations.

Community Grant Program

This program assists Mississauga-based, not-for-profit community groups by providing operating and project funding to deliver recreation and sport, parks and forestry and environment programs and services to the Mississauga community. 

The deadline to apply for all grants is Friday, October 13 by 4:30 p.m.

If you need a little more info, you’re free to attend an information session. According to the city, these sessions are mandatory for organizations that have not received funding in the past two years.

Wednesday, August 23, 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, August 30, 9 to 11 a.m.

Cultural Festivals and Celebrations Grant Information Sessions
Mississauga Central Library, Noel Ryan Auditorium, 301 Burnhamthorpe Road West.
Thursday, August 24, 9 to 11 a.m. and Thursday, August 31, 6 to 8 p.m.

Community Grant Webinar
Tuesday, September 12, 2 to 2:30 p.m. and Thursday, September 14, 10 to 10:30 a.m.
