The City of Burlington has launched a new volunteer program that centralizes all volunteer opportunities in order to better serve the community.

The program will allow the community to access all city volunteer postings in one place which will make things easier for residents looking for ways to get involved.

Residents will be able to apply for opportunities in areas such as adult programs, advisory committees, animal shelters, aquatics, child, youth and family programs, festivals and events, skating, student theatre, Tyandaga Golf Course and more.

Through the burlington.ca/volunteer website, residents may create a profile to receive email updates on new opportunities as they become available.

Each volunteer posting will include requirements for that opportunity which may differ depending on the type of work.

“Our residents make a positive impact volunteering in our community every day.  The City felt it was important to bring together all of the City volunteer postings shared across different platforms into one easy-to-find location,” said Michelle Dwyer, Manager of Engagement and Volunteers.

“Our new volunteer program is intended to be helpful for everyone from students looking to complete volunteer hours for school to the active seniors giving back to Burlington.”

Recruiting for fall program volunteer opportunities will be posted next month and all volunteer opportunities with the City can now be found at burlington.ca/volunteer.
